We all need a little nudge in the right direction now and then to give our lifestyle a fitness boost. Here’s our simple, yet effective nifty ways to give your fitness levels a positive pick me up.

Find your free 15

That’s 15 minutes you can commit to a day to moving around and being active. Whether it’s a brisk walk, cleaning or structured exercise trust us this really adds up. Before you know it you’ve found a new routine that delivers over 1 ½ hours of extra physical activity a week!

Commit to a project

Let’s face it most of us have a long list of jobs we need to tackle. Maybe it’s sprucing up the garden, deep cleaning or that much awaited DIY project. Pick the job that’s at the top of your list, press on and enjoy all the additional active calories you’ll burn along the way.

Trial a class

A class trial is a great way to give your normal routine a boost and often is provided as a free of charge taster. From yoga to line dancing, zumba to boot camp there are heaps of options around the London area to choose from. Simply check out what’s on offer in your area and give your fitness routine a mix up.

Set a timer

We all know that too much sitting is bad news for our health but what do we actually do about it? Give your body a well-deserved treat by setting hourly reminders to get up move around and have a 5 minute stretch.

Ditch the easy options

Without doubt technology has provided huge benefits to make our lives easier. Remote controls, programmable ovens, robot vacuum cleaners and even the self-drive car doesn’t seem to be too far off. But there is a risk that technology little by little takes the place of human movement and before we know it our lifestyle has become increasingly sedentary. The solution? Ditch those easy options and replace them with more active ones. Whether it’s relocating the kettle so it’s further away, making your own meals, finding new parking spots that are further away, the list is endless. What matters is that little by little you’ll be building new habits that will quickly become part of your new more active routine.
